Patient Testimonials

We are very proud to have great patients, and make every effort to provide them with a dental experience that focuses on comfort, and quality. Some of our patients have been kind enough to give us their thoughts on their experiences that we've listed below.

I have gone to Dr. McLaurian for all my dental needs for the past 20+ years. I always experienced great customer/patient service from the doctor and the entire staff. They take extra steps to make sure the person is comfortable when performing any type of services. I was most impressed when Dr. McLaurian called me at home to see how I was feeling after having extensive service done earlier that day. The professionalism and friendly atmosphere is unbeatable! I've recommended this office to family members, friends and co-workers and they are as satisfied as I am.

When I moved to Kansas City in 2009, I knew I needed to find a dentist, but I did not expect to find a dentist as skilled or as understanding as Dr. McLaurian. Dr. McLaurian takes the time to get to know his patients and is always happy to answer any questions one might have. The work he's done on my teeth has been exceptional, and the fear that I once had of going to the dentist is gone. In 2010, my teeth needed serious attention, with two root canals, cavities and a serious teeth grinding problem. I was confident that Dr. McLaurian would do everything he could to help me, and he did. However, I was nervous about how I was going to afford all the work. Dr. McLaurian and his staff were not only understanding of my financial situation but were flexible with payment options. They have made my dental experience wonderful.

My wife and I came to Gregory Dental in 2010 on a recommendation. Dr. McLaurian recommended a mouth guard to protect my teeth from grinding at night. Through further discussion with me, he discovered that I also suffer from sleep apnea, due in part to my overbite. He then recommended a mouth guard that would both protect my teeth from grinding and reposition my chin to minimize sleep apnea. I had been living with a sleep apnea machine for several years. My sleep Dr. recommended that I try the mouth guard without my machine. With my distance running and my mouth guard, I have now been free of my sleep apnea machine since October 2010. Thanks Dr. McLaurian

Have you ever had a toothache and you knew you needed to go to the dentist, but were scared? I understand your pain, literally. I had many bad experiences with dentists in the past. Every time a toothache would flare up, I would take Tylenol to subside the pain, temporally. Eventually, when the Tylenol stopped working and I realized I did not have any option but to go to the dentist. I was so nervous, because it is hard to find a good dentist. I found Dr. McLaurian in 2004, by chance.
I had just moved and his office was right across the street. My son, Michael, who was five years old at the time, needed to get his first cleaning, so I took a chance and made an appointment for him. When we met Dr. McLaurian, he immediately made us feel very comfortable. He explained in detail what procedure he was going to do that day for Michael. Next, his assistant gave Michael a list of movies to choose from while they were working on him, to keep him mind occupied. Before we knew it, the work was completed. Michael was happy and not afraid of the dentist. That was a relief, especially since I was next. I decided that the pain in my mouth was so severe that I had no choice but to go to the dentist. When I walked into his office his staff immediately greeted me with a smile. The normal process began; they took x-rays and he took a close look at my mouth. In terms I could understand, he explained what needed to be accomplish, and in order of importance. The next visit is when the real worked began. I would be lying if I said I was not freaking out inside! However, his assistant gave me the list of movies. I was still scared, but I started to feel relaxed, at least. Once he came in and numbed me up, he sat there talking to me, which also helped me relaxed. Finally, when I was numb started the procedure, and before I realized it he completed. I did not feel a thing, except hands in my mouth, and the sound of the tools he was using. I think the sound of the instruments is scarier than the work itself. Dr. McLaurian is a great dentist, and now I cannot wait to get my teeth worked on some more! I know it is not going to hurt and it will help the health of my mouth and make my smile be even more beautiful. In closing, I asked my Michael, who is now 12, why he likes Dr. McLaurian. In response, he said, "He is nice and very encouraging." If you are not sure where to go for your dental health, I whole-heartedly recommend Dr. McLaurian at Gregory Family Dental.
A grateful patient,
Crystal
